Room 19 shows a large projection on the wall. It tells about the political climate at the time the objects in the room were made. Industrial developments and political events such as the struggle for women’s rights and World War I affected the role of product design during 1910–1914. The projection is divided into chapters that show how the optimism just after the turn of the century was subdued by harsh political realities, and that progress truly came at a price.
