Several iconic paintings by Christian Krohg will soon be loaned to the solo exhibition "Christian Krohg. Painting Humanity" at Musée d’Orsay in Paris.

Christian Krohg, one of the great Norwegian painters of the Realist movement, was a champion of justice and freedom of expression. Krohg painted members of the working class in the Kristiania of the 1800s with empathy and a desire for change.

During the exhibition in Paris, which opens in March 2025, visitors in The National Museum can enjoy works by other notable artists, including Ragnhild Kvalstrad, Lily Wrangel, Eilif Peterssen and Eyolf Soot, among others.

The changes will take place in rooms 52, 53, 57, and 61 during November, December and January.
