Join us in celebrating the opening of a new exhibition in The Pillars, where you can immerse yourself in Yayoi Kusama’s installation Narcissus Garden and experience the premiere of Jonas Øren’s performance Juvenilia Garden

In the new exhibition in The Pillars you can experience the immersive installation Narcissus Garden by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. The artwork consisting of 1300 mirrored spheres, is surrounded by paintings by Hurvin Anderson, Michael Armitage, Louise Giovanelli, Yukimasa Ida and Kerry James Marshall. With their distinct practices, each artist explores how art history can be both a testament to the past and a means to grapple with the present, be it through landscapes, gardens, drapery or flora.

The exhibition is the third in a series of exhibitions in The Pillars showcasing works from The Fredriksen Family Collection, a collection continuously evolving and emphasising artworks from the post-war period until today.

Read more about the exhibition here.

During the opening you will also be able to experience the premiere of Jonas Øren’s performance Juvenilia Garden, where Øren invites us into his garden of memories and experiences as a dance artist and choreographer, drawing inspiration from Kusama’s installation. He is joined by performer Torfi Tómasson, with costumes by Anne Karine Thorbjørnsen and music composed by Mats Høstaker (freij).

The Bar in the Lounge is open and light refreshments will be served.
Free entry and open for all – first come, first served!
