Jina, conservator – new media
I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in photography and media art and taught video and digital art production at various universities in the United States before moving to Norway and pursuing my second master’s degree in object conservation at UiO. While studying conservation, I also worked in the digitization department at Nasjonalbiblioteket.
Despite my formal education in historic and archaeological object conservation, all of these different experiences have become the most valuable resources for me to care for time-based media and digital artworks. Because the fields of time-based media and digital conservation are new and evolving quickly, I am constantly learning new art forms as well as developing techniques to preserve them, which is both challenging and exciting!
