House Viewing

27 April 2018–9 September 2018

The National Museum – Architecture

1-2 bedroom apartments on view, in this must-see exhibition!

A bright and desirable exhibition about housing quality and small apartments, perfect for the first time homebuyer. The exhibition also explores new areas of housing development in Oslo, as well as influential modernist apartments from the 1920s and 30s and innovative housing solutions for the future.

Oslo is one of the fastest growing cities in Europe, with new apartment buildings rising ever faster and higher, and in ever denser configurations. The exhibition explores how architectural qualities – such as interior layout, access to daylight and well-planned neighbourhoods – affect the quality of home living. It also asks what factors influence the design of small apartments today.

At the same time, we are refurbishing our permanent exhibition “Building Ideas”, refreshing it with exquisite housing ideas (drawings and models) from the past hundred years.
