The library's collection is related to key fields of research and work at the museum. It contains books, exhibition catalogues, artist's books, journals, auction catalogues and reference works in the visual arts, architecture, design, art and crafts and related disciplines. The library's collection must be viewed on site.
The museum's archive contains an extensive archive of artists and collections as well as a number of historical archives of major national importance. The collections also contain the private archives of various art associations, artists, scholars and companies.
